An individual who is responsible for keeping users' computers running and up-to-date. Their functions are similar to a system administrator, but are more support oriented. They provide technical support to users and may do minor hardware repairs. Unlike software engineers, they typically do not do software design and major programming from the ground up. Rather, they may write in HTML, script languages, macro languages as well as high-level application programming languages.
