speed segments

A portion of the arrival route between the transition point and the vertex along the optimum flight path for which speeds and altitudes are specified. There is one set of arrival segments adapted from each transition point to each vertex. One set may contain up to six segments.

Each test cycle consists of six individual segments, two high speed segments, followed by two low speed segments, followed by two additional high speed segments.
Therefore, each LSPI data point is the result of 16 individual high speed segments and eight low speed segments.
A comparison of the sum of LSPI events observed for all valid high load/high speed segments could be misleading because, on occasion, one or more high load/high speed segment(s) was determined to be operationally invalid and omitted from further analysis.
For a complete 16 hour test, the engine is operated for a series of segments designed to generate LSPI events: a high load/high speed segment repeated a total of 16 times, and a lower load/lower speed segment repeated a total of 8 times.
"The colour laser market continues to register the region's most impressive volume and value growth rates, but we are also seeing strong shipment growth across most speed segments of the mono laser market," said Ashwin Venkatchari, senior program manager for imaging, printing, and document solutions at IDC Middle East, Turkey, and Africa.
The 5-Gigabit model (NP-2/5) is a scaled down version of the 10-Gigabit network processor (NP-2/10) and extends EZchip's reach into lower speed segments of the Metro Ethernet market.
The high speed segments include one with +/- 1% grade, and another segment with +/- 3% grade.
