A spread footing
in dry sand with a unit weight (y) = 18.5 KN/[m.sup.3] and a friction angle ([phi]')=35[degrees] is illustrated in Figure 1.
The free-standing, one-story building features a spread footing
foundation with a grade concrete slab, a hybrid steel and wood structural system, and a steel roof support structure for a single gable roof with front-facing intersecting gables.
Once the outlet structure was lowered into position and suspended a short distance above the bottom, the barge carrying the trimmey and concrete truck was floated into position to pour a spread footing
on the lake floor beneath the structure and to fill the box containment structure with concrete to provide ballast.
