static pressure

[′stad·ik ′presh·ər]
(acoustics)
The pressure that would exist at a point in a medium if no sound waves were present.
(fluid mechanics)
The normal component of stress, the force per unit area, exerted across a surface moving with a fluid, especially across a surface which lies in the direction of fluid flow.
The average of the normal components of stress exerted across three mutually perpendicular surfaces moving with a fluid.

static pressure

1. In an air distribution system, the pressure which the fan must supply to overcome the resistance to airflow through the system ductwork and system components.
2. The pressure which a fluid exerts on a surface at rest with respect to it.
3. At a point, the atmospheric pressure in the absence of sound waves; usually expressed in pascals.

static pressure

The atmospheric pressure of the air through which the aircraft is flying.

Probes with diameter of 1.5 mm are used to measure the static pressure and the total pressure of the inlet and outlet of the diffuser in order to calculate the total pressure loss and the static pressure recovery.
(2) Under the same working conditions, the greater the difference of the static pressure between the inlet and outlet is, the greater the pressure-rise of the air outlet will be.
I believe there might be misunderstanding regarding our discussion about the plant static pressure. When we mentioned "Buildings exceeding the plant static pressure ...," we were referring to buildings whose top coil heights exceed the elevation that the plant static pressure reaches.
Static pressure: from -30 to 300 mmHg with setting step of 1.3 mmHg, offset from -25 to 25 mmHg with setting step of 0.2 mmHg.
Third, and to clarify, where the article states: "--where opening and closing of the (static pressure system) occurs--also requires recertification." Such recertification could consist of just the static pressure system test described in FAR 43 Appendix E and be legally performed by a certificated airframe mechanic.
The 3-A Symbol range includes non-pressure models for fitting above the liquid level; pressure models for above or below the liquid level; and static pressure models for below the liquid level.
"The room is fitted with a clean air supply with Grade I air filter for static pressure testing and a specialist lifting rig," says AxFlow's Service Base Manager Tom Cooper.
A recipe that produced a Pb-free ramp-to-peak profile with a belt speed of 28 IPM and static pressure of 1.0 IWC was chosen as a baseline (Table 1).
Experimental investigations are performed to measure the detailed heat transfer coefficient and static pressure distribution on the squealer tip of a gas turbine blade in the five-blade stationary linear cascade.
