That branch of gas dynamics dealing with the flow of gases at such low density that the molecular mean free path is not negligibly small; under these conditions the gas no longer behaves as a continuous fluid.

superaerodynamics

A branch of aerodynamics that deals with bodies in motion at very high altitudes and at very great speeds. It also examines the motion of air that contains but a few molecules.
