A drain used for conveying rain-water, subsurface water, condensate, cooling water, or other similar discharges, but not sewage or industrial waste, to a point of disposal.

The wastewater from municipalities and industries all over the country is discharged indiscriminately by almost all the urban centres (Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Hyderabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar Rawalpindi and Sialkot) into the nearest channel, surface-water drains or the irrigation drainage canal and some times even in the link canals themselves.
