The target image is picked up by the TV camera in the missile. The image is displayed in the cockpit. The missile is guided automatically to the target once it is released, after lock on. The TV head continuously compares target's contrast with its surrounding and is guided in this way.
A type of command guidance where the operator sends steering information to a vehicle by watching TV (television) pictures obtained from a camera located in the nose of the vehicle being guided.
