The removal of the game from digital stores comes days after Telltale Games laid off majority of its staff, including the entire team that was working on the last "Walking Dead" video game series installment.
However, they are reportedly focused on completing Telltale's project with Netflix, which is a "Minecraft: Story Mode" adaptation for the streaming service. The developer originally planned to come up with two projects out of its partnership with Netflix.
Representatives assured (http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2017-11-07-telltale-games-restructures-cuts-90-staff) GameIndustry.biz that the restructuring, most especially the layoffs, won't have any impact on any of Telltale Games' previously announced projects.

Ironically, Telltale appears to be hiring at present.

Extensive plot details have yet to be officially revealed for the episodic series - Telltale plans to drop an official Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series trailer for the first episode later this week - but the standalone game will revolve around an item the Guardians and a female villain each want to take.
