temperature saturation

[′tem·prə·chər ‚sach·ə‚rā·shən]
(electronics)
The condition in which the anode current of a thermionic vacuum tube cannot be further increased by increasing the cathode temperature at a given value of anode voltage; the effect is due to the space charge formed near the cathode. Also known as filament saturation; saturation.
