C4H11NO3 A crystalline compound with a melting point of 171-172°C; soluble in water, ethylene glycol, methanol, and ethanol; used to make surface-active agents, vulcanization accelerators, and pharmaceuticals, and as a titrimetric standard. Also known as THAM; trimethylol aminomethane; TRIS; trisamine; tris buffers.
