virtual headphones

(1) Simulating the privacy of a headset without wearing a head-worn unit. By adjusting the timing of the sound waves, the sound from the computer's speakers is aimed at the listener, whose location has been pinpointed by several microphones in the room. See headset.

(2) A set of headphones that delivers a surround sound feeling to the listener. See headphones.
