(1) Making purchases at a website. See virtual store.(2) Selecting items for delivery via smartphones. In 2011, Tesco Homeplus opened a virtual supermarket in a South Korean subway station that displays merchandise as if it were on a physical shelf. Customers scan the barcode of the items they want with their Homeplus app, and delivery is made at the end of the day.
