An in situ compressor volumetric efficiency can be defined as the ratio of the volumetric flow rate of the refrigerant computed upstream of the compressor suction to the volumetric displacement
of the compressor.
This result decreases the volumetric displacement
and lowers the maximum flow rate from 0.989 to 0.367 mL/s when the height of the primary chamber is decreased from 4 to 1 mm.

of the valve stem is also a source (or sink) of flow.
