FRUITY TREE: Winter cherries
add a splash of colour to any garden
On the heels of last season's successful offering of organic winter cherries
, CF Fresh plans to double the volume this year.
Garden centres are awash with winter cherries
(solanum capsicastrum), bearing large bright-orange berries which look tempting but may not last too long outside unless you give them a really sheltered spot.
2 Winter cherries
(Solanum casicastrum) These are not fully hardy but survive most winters in warmer areas and well-protected spots.
For a big bold splash of colour there are potted chrysanthemums, winter cherries
and ornamental cabbages.
I'd pack in as many cyclamen, indoor azaleas, winter cherries
and begonias as I could.
