In there as well may be tiny white calcite crystals, micro-crystals of chalcopyrite, and microcrystals of several rare species including
xanthoconite. In the InnSuites, Luis Burillo had some fine thumbnails (though his labels said "arsenpolybasite"), and Jaroslav Hyrsl (hyrsl@kuryr.cz) had about a dozen superb small miniatures.
1882 Stephanite,
Xanthoconite and Proustite, Cobalt, Ontario, Canada, no.
Matrix, when present, is a dark gray, silicified mixture of silver sulfides and sulfosalts, with tiny wires of silver and microcrystals of
xanthoconite and imiterite.
In addition to galena and barite, proustite is usually associated with
xanthoconite and pyrargyrite.
The mineralization consisted of patches, grains and intergrowths of argentite/acanthite, proustite,
xanthoconite, smithite, miargyrite, argyrodite, unidentified bismuth sulfosalts (Gasparrini, 1978), jordanite, pyrargyrite and gersdorffite (Taylor, 1984).
In 1996 a single 1-mm, orange, thin-tabular hexagonal platelet of twinned
xanthoconite was found with pyrostilpnite and pyrargyrite in the newly opened Potosi vein.
