The market already has PATA,
ATAPI, Hybrid ATA, SCSI and Fibre Channel.
Later, in order to eliminate the extra cost of the host adapter, the
ATAPI specification was added to the ATA standard as a method for transmitting SCSI commands across ATA hardware by encapsulating or packetizing much of the SCSI protocol into standard ATA data transfers.
An IDE /
ATAPI interface offers easy integration and the unit can be installed either horizontally or vertically.

But if the user must analyze ATAPI-level commands (in SATA interface), the presentation layer should elevate the low-level packets to the
ATAPI command level and show a transaction at that level.
The new internal Hornet 40
ATAPI and TapeStor Travan 40 bundled solution drive specifications include 20-Gbyte native capacity/cartridge with 2 Mbytes/sec native transfer rate and backward-read compatibility with Travan 20-Gbyte technology.
The drives themselves attach to computers using a wide range of interfaces, from legacy
ATAPI and SCSI connectors, to High-Speed USB 2.0 and cutting-edge Fire Wire (IEEE 1394).
Flexible ports enable direct interfacing with the front panel, the infrared sensor, multiple drive types (
ATAPI, A/V, UDE, S2B), and an MPEG encoder.
The DMN-8652 further integrates a second dedicated
ATAPI port, an NTSC/PAL TV encoder, video DACs and a USB controller.
