Location:West central Illinois, 5 miles north of Carlyle and 3 miles east of IL 127 in Clinton County.
Facilities:328 Class A campsites (electrical hookups; 7 @di), 36 Class C sites (walk-in tent camping), and 2 rustic rent-a-cabins, with camp store, 3 shower buildings, numerous privy toilets, playgrounds, basketball court, sand volleyball court, horshoe pits, and an amphitheater in the main campground area; youth campground; 20 lakefront cottages; 40-acre sailboat harbor with showers, picnic tables, play equipment, day-use docks, picnic shelter, boat launching ramp, and 3 electric hoists; day-use areas with boat ramps, courtesy dock (é), picnic shelters, play equipment, privy toilets, fish cleaning station (é); swimming pool, hiking trails (9 miles), fishing piers.
Activities:Camping, fishing, boating, sailing, swimming, hiking, hunting, interpretive programs.
Special Features:Park includes the largest campground (Illini campground) in the Illinois state park system on the largest manmade lake (Carlyle Lake) in the state. Strong wind conditions and the large expanse of water--18 miles long and 5 miles wide--make Carlyle Lake very popular for sailing.
