Lisa Clarke, a member of the group said: "This poor swan at Swanswell Pool in Coventry had a fishing hook through his beak and a hook and
fishing line wrapped around his leg.
Ms Gibbon said: "The leg that he did have was red hot at the top, above the
fishing line, and stone cold beneath the line.
Farley said there even was talk of tying a knife to a long stick to cut the
fishing line and free the duck from the branch.
