Location:2 miles southeast of Chinook on Highway 101.

Special Features:Fort Columbia was built to support the defenses of the Columbia River and is one of the few intact coastal defense sites in the U.S. It was constructed on the Chinook Point promontory because of the unobstructed view. Declared surplus after World War II, it was transferred to the state and has been a state park ever since. Twelve historic wood-frame buildings still stand on the site.
