Gremiachinsk

 

a city (a settlement until 1949) in Perm Oblast. RSFSR. Situated 5 km from the Baskaia railroad station on the Chusovskaia-Solikamsk line and 165 km north-east of Perm’ on the Kungur-Solikamsk highway. Population. 30,000 (1970). Gremiachinsk arose in 1942, in connection with the development of new coal beds in the Kizel coal basin. A machine-building plant and a factory for knitted outerwear are under construction (1971).
