Novyi Uzen’
a city (since 1968) under oblast jurisdiction in Mangyshlak Oblast, Kazakh SSR. Located on the Mangyshlak Plateau. Railroad station (Uzen’). Population, 29,000 (1974). Oil and gas are extracted. A gas-processing plant is in Novyi Uzen’.
