The use of older styles in new architectural movements, most often referring to the Gothic, Roman, Egyptian, Etruscan, Greek, Colonial, or revival styles of the 18th and 19th century.

Revival architecture

Architecture that makes use of elements of an earlier style that it seeks to emulate, borrowing many of the features of its prototype, as described under the term architectural mode.
