Serial

 

a publication with the same orientation and name and consistent numbering and format but appearing irregularly as material accumulates.

Serials in the USSR include almanacs, transactions and other scholarly and scientific publications, and bulletins. Most journals published in the USSR are serials. Serials tend to appear at regular intervals, that is, become periodicals.
