Treviso

 

a city in northern Italy, in Véneto. Capital of Treviso Province. Population, 91,200 (1973). Industrial enterprises produce castings, machinery, textiles, chemicals, wood products, paper, ceramics, and clothing. Treviso is the center of a silkworm-breeding region. The city has architectural monuments of the 12th to 18th centuries. Treviso has a municipal museum and a theater.
