According to previous investigations [5-7], nitrogen in oil shale kerogen mainly exists in five forms: pyrrolic nitrogen (N-5), pyridinic nitrogen (N-6), quaternary nitrogen (-N[H.sub.4]),
amino nitrogen (-N[H.sub.2]) and chemisorbed N[O.sub.X].
The benzohydrazide (L) in these complexes depicts monodentate behavior, providing terminal
amino nitrogen as a donor atom.
In contrast, primary
amino nitrogen (PAN) concentration never reached zero; in fact, a slight increase in PAN was observed in the final stages of all fermentations.
It was expected that supplementation with glutamate in diets with reduced CP would improve the egg weight, based on the greater amount of
amino nitrogen available for the synthesis of non-essential amino acids (NEAA), sparing the essential amino acids (EAA) for protein synthesis in the animal organism.
Total free
amino nitrogen (the sum of total amino acids but proline) is usually used as a quality indicator of musts since low rates imply fermentation problems due to insufficient nutritional reserves of yeasts which may promote sluggish/protracted fermentation (HERBERT et al., 2000).

amino nitrogen, fusel alcohols and ethanol production of fermented maize and whole and decorticated sorghum mashes," Biochemical Engineering Journal, vol.
This step provides the
amino nitrogen needed for the production of alanine from pyruvate.
The conductivity of Ni(II)-glu complex (Table 2.1 and Fig.2.1) is much lower than that of the free metal ion indicating Glutamic acid may bind the metal ion in a tridentate manner, through the
amino nitrogen and two carboxylato oxygen atoms.
The diamine is the nucleophilic reagent, the larger the charge density of the
amino nitrogen the quicker of the reaction rate, and the reactivity of diamine is larger [27, 28].
