Within the literature, including this case, there are only four reported cases of TMJ ganglion presenting as an external auditory canal (EAC) mass [4-6].

Inclusion criteria: When otitis media, otoscopic examination through the external auditory canal showed the eardrum was inflammatory, manifested as redness, swelling and extrusion; reflection of the otoscopic light by the eardrum surface disappeared or attenuated; the eardrum had a white interface upon middle-ear hydrops; age older than 18 years.
These include cotton wool swab collection of discharge from the external auditory canal, needle aspiration of the middle ear (tympanocentesis), and suction aspiration of the discharge from the middle ear through the tympanic membrane perforation.
The new-age hearing aids are not visible to others and can be placed within the auditory canal. They are usually waterproof and require low maintenance that includes a change of case and a change of batteries periodically.
Next, the chorda tympani nerve was anteplaced and adhered to the posterior wall of the external auditory canal with medical glue [Figure 2]b.
