What does it mean when you dream about choking?

If not a direct reflection of something happening to one’s body during sleep, a dream about choking can indicate indecision or conflict. Choking is also related to emotion, as when one is “choked up” from fear. Alternatively, to “choke off” is to stop something.

An inductance used in a circuit to present a high impedance to frequencies above a specified frequency range without appreciably limiting the flow of direct current. Also known as choke coil.

(electromagnetism)

A groove or other discontinuity in a waveguide surface so shaped and dimensioned as to impede the passage of guided waves within a limited frequency range.

(mechanical engineering)

To increase the fuel feed to an internal combustion engine through the action of a choke valve.

(ordnance)

A narrowing toward the muzzle in the bore of gun, hence the choked bore; often applied to shotguns.

(petroleum engineering)

A removable nipple inserted in a flow line to control oil or gas flow.
