Table-5 presents the
distribution coefficients data for Pb(II) ion and the thermodynamic functions of the adsorption process of Pb(II) ion at different temperature and pH values [44].
It is clear that under the cow dung treatment, Ni was present in soil in soil mainly in oxidisable and residual fractions, and the sum of the
distribution coefficients ranged from 59.5% to 77.4%.

Furthermore, the design parameters and thermodynamics feasibility factors such as phase volume ratio, preconcentration factor,
distribution coefficient, the efficiency of the process, change in enthalpy ([[DELTA]H.sub.0] ), change in entropy ([[DELTA]S.sup.0]), and change in Gibbs free energy ([[DELTA]G.sup.0]) have been investigated.
Some researchers [7,22] believe that manganese increases along with meteoric diagenetic processes, because the
distribution coefficient of Mn is high in the meteoric waters so that reaches about 15ppm, in conclusion considerable amount of Mn will be entered into the calcite network.
Equilibrium is maintained at the solidification front, i.e., the composition of the solid phase is equal to the product of the
distribution coefficient by the concentration of the liquid at the solidification front.
Also, in a bid to study adsorptive behavior of the prepared adsorbents,
distribution coefficient of heavy metals, radionuclides and other pollutants were measured and parameters influencing the adsorption process like pH, time and temperature were optimized.
