mobile operating system

The master control program in a smartphone or tablet. The primary operating systems are Apple's iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch), Google's Android, Microsoft's Windows 10 and BlackBerry's QNX. See iOS, Android, Windows 10 and QNX.
