streaming service

An online provider of entertainment (music, movies, etc.) that delivers the content via an Internet connection to the subscriber's computer, TV or mobile device. Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, Spotify and Apple Music are high-profile examples. However, there are several others. In the May 2019 issue of Consumer Reports, a description of no-cost movie and TV services included Amazon Freedive, Hoopla, Kanopy, Pluto TV, Roku Channel, Snagfilms, Sony Crackle, Tubi TV, VUDU and Xumo.
