vasomotor center

[¦vāz·ə′mōd·ər ‚sen·tər]
(physiology)
A large, diffuse area in the reticular formation of the lower brainstem; stimulation of different portions of this center causes either a rise in blood pressure and tachycardia (pressor area) or a fall in blood pressure and bradycardia (depressor area).
