Apache Cordova
An open source hybrid mobile development environment from the Apache Software Foundation (www.apache.org) that generates iOS, Android, BlackBerry, Windows Phone, WebOS, bada and Symbian apps from the same source code. Cordova is the foundation of several development environments, including Adobe Phonegap (www.phonegap.com), Ionic (www.ionicframework.com), Monaca (http://monaca.io), ViziApps (www.viziapps.com), Convertigo (www.convertigo.com) and appMobi (www.appmobi.com).

Cordova was originally PhoneGap, developed by Vancouver-based startup Nitobi Software and acquired by Adobe in 2011. Adobe contributed PhoneGap to the Apache Foundation, which renamed it after the location of the Nitobi office.
