(1) (Sony-LINK) An earlier interface from Sony for controlling A/V equipment. The Control-L protocol, also known as "Local Application Control" (LANC), remotely controls a camcorder. Control-S remotely controls a VCR or DVD player via IR codes for play, stop, etc, and Control-A1 reads data from the disc in a CD player.

(2) (Simple-LINK) A 32-bit high-speed interface from CERN for collecting information from particle accelerators.
