After ligation of the splenic artery and left gastric artery, the cadavers were injected with red synthetic latex via the common hepatic artery, and dissected 7 days later.
Although studies are performed on various other arteries little or no data is available regarding use of common hepatic artery (CHA) so we used CHA as medium sized muscular artery in our research to see effects of aging.
It divides into three branches: the left gastric artery, the splenic artery, and the common hepatic artery. The celiac axis gives arterial supply to the liver, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas, and gut from the distal esophagus to the ampullary region.
The common hepatic artery was present in 28 (28%) cadavers as the last artery, the splenic artery in 6 (6%) and both arteries at the same level, as terminal branches, in 48 (48%) out of the 82 studied cadavers.
The patients with complete occlusion of the common hepatic artery (CHA) or the proper hepatic artery (PHA) related to interventional procedures were included in this study.
The arterial anastomosis is slightly more difficult as only the left hepatic artery is available; this is usually anastomosed to the recipient common hepatic artery. The biliary anastomosis is technically difficult because it is performed at the level of the right or left hepatic duct.

The tumour was found to be infiltrating a small portion of common hepatic artery and main portal vein.
